A value-based organization committed to stopping violent conflict, empowering communities, and building a Nigeria where peace endures — irrespective of tongue, tribe, or religion.
The Peace Alliance Network (PAN) Foundation is a value-based peacebuilding organization rooted in Nigeria's rich and diverse cultural landscape. We exist because we believe ordinary Nigerians hold extraordinary power to build peace — from their streets, markets, mosques, churches, and community halls.
We work directly with victims of violent conflict, bringing together voices from every corner of society to make change that endures. We do not stand on the sidelines of Nigeria's story — we are active participants in shaping a more just and peaceful future.
Our approach is community-led, culturally sensitive, and deeply human. We engage all members of the human family — regardless of faith, tribe, or background — as contributors to building a lasting culture of peace.
"Peace is not the absence of conflict, but the presence of justice and the courage to pursue it together."— PAN Foundation Founding Principle
We imagine a Nigeria — and a world — where the accidents of birth never determine whether you live in peace or in fear. Every community dialogue, every youth we reintegrate, every conflict we help resolve moves us one step closer to that horizon.
We build networks — not silos. Connecting communities, governments, faith leaders, and civil society organizations to create systemic change that outlasts any single intervention.
Six principles that are non-negotiable in everything we do — from how we run our office to how we engage communities in conflict zones.
Every strategy, every intervention, every conversation is grounded in the absolute rejection of violence as a tool for change.
We advocate for equal rights and equitable treatment for all Nigerians, particularly those historically marginalized in peacebuilding processes.
Our finances, decisions, and operations are open to scrutiny — because trust is everything in peacebuilding work.
We actively include women, youth, all faith traditions, and all ethnic groups — because exclusion breeds resentment.
We don't bring peace to communities — we help communities build their own. Our role is to equip, support, and amplify local peacebuilders.
We hold ourselves to the highest standards — to the communities we serve, the donors who support us, and the mission that drives us.
From a small coalition of committed Nigerians in 2009 to a nationwide network spanning 19 states, our growth mirrors the growing demand for peace in Nigeria's communities.
A coalition of civil society leaders, faith leaders, and community activists come together in Abuja with a shared conviction: Nigeria deserves better than cycles of violence. PAN Foundation is formally established with a mandate for community peacebuilding.
PAN deploys its first field teams to Plateau State following intercommunal violence, facilitating dialogue between community leaders and training local peacebuilders. 12 communities participate in the inaugural program.
As violence escalates in the northeast, PAN expands its mandate to include psychosocial support for conflict victims in Borno and Adamawa states, partnering with international organizations to scale its reach.
PAN launches a dedicated Youth Reintegration Program — providing skills, mentorship, and pathways back to community life for young people affected by violence.
PAN's network now spans 19 Nigerian states, with over 200 trained local peacebuilders and a growing reputation as one of Nigeria's most effective grassroots peacebuilding organizations.
